Departure

Service for passengers departing from Kazan international airport by domestic and international flights is carried out in Terminal 1 and Terminal 1A. Check in advance the terminal of your flight departure.

INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS

Dear passengers!
  • At Kazan international airport passengers and baggage check-in of international flights starts 2 hours 30 minutes before the departure time and closes 40 minutes before the departure time according to the timetable. Passengers and baggage check-in time is determined by the airlines and this information is provided to the passenger at the time of ticket purchase. Boarding closes 20 minutes before the flights departure. 
  • On buying the ticket or booking confirmation, we strongly recommend you to check the departure Terminal, transport regulations of the airline, which flight you are using, especially baggage regulations and check-in procedure regulations. You can find everything on the airlines website.
  • To avoid the queues to check-in desks and in order to create the most comfortable conditions for the departure procedures passing, we kindly ask you to arrive at the airport in advance.
  • We also recommend you to check in by yourself, using one of the methods for self-check-in, which will allow you to save time at the airport:       
  1. Before the arriving at the airport by online check-in service. Not available to all flights and airlines.
  2. At the Terminal 1A by means of the self-service check-in terminal of the Transaero airlines.
  • At the entrance to the terminals for your personal safety, you should pass through the passengers and baggage security checkpoints. 
  • Checkpoints are equipped with X-ray introscope, and also with stationary and hand-held metal detectors. The inspection procedure is carried out by aviation security services staff of Kazan international airport.
  • You may see the information about flights on the information screens in the terminals.
  • If your departure is from the Terminal 1A and you, in accordance with Customs Code of the Russian Federation, should not fill in the customs declaration, you follow to the check-in area and then to the customs area (green channel).
  • Passengers, departing from the Terminal 1A, who in accordance with the Customs Code of the Russian Federation should fill in the customs declaration, follow to the customs area (red channel), where they fill in the customs declaration at the special desk and then go to the check-in area.
  • Declaration must be made at the customs line – before check-in, border control and pre-flight inspection. Customs registration and customs clearance of goods supposed to be transported across the state border of the Russian Federation is made by customs officials in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, acting in relation to the customs affairs.
  • At the check-in desk you should show the ticket and the passport. If you have an e-ticket, you can show only the passport. At the check-in desk you should show all the baggage you intend to carry with you on the aircraft, regardless of whether it will be carried in cabin or in the cargo hold. After the check-in procedure and baggage drop you get a boarding pass and baggage tags.
  • If the number of seats, weight and size of your baggage exceed the established by air carrier free baggage allowance rules for the service class of your ticket, you will have to pay for the excess baggage. After the excess baggage payment you should return to the check-in desk and get the boarding pass and baggage tags. We recommend you to be aware of the baggage allowance rules on the flight, which you can find on the airlines website.
  • Further you should pass through the passport control, which is carried out by the representatives of Kazan international airport checkpoint of border control detachment “Povolzhie” of border management of Saratov and Samara regions of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation. 
  • Due to the fact, that every country establishes its own passport and visa regulations for entry and transfer, you should first obtain the official information on the requirements for the travel documents (passport, visa) in the consulate of the country you are flying in. 
  • After the passport control you should pass through the security control. 
  • Then you enter the departure waiting area – “sterile area”, where you can visit different restaurants, caffees, bars and duty-free shops.
  • 40 minutes before the scheduled departure time, by the time of boarding, stated in the boarding pass, you should go to the gate, specified in your boarding pass. The boarding starts after the public announcement about boarding. In the boarding announcement the carrier, flight number, destination, gate are specified. The announcements are made in Russian and English.
  • The gate number can be changed, we recommend you be attentive to the announcements and information on the screens.
  • For the boarding you will need the passport and the boarding pass. You will be invited to take a seat in the bus, which takes you to the aircraft boarding stairs. Kazan international airport has passenger boarding bridges, by its means you can get directly from the Terminal 1A to the aircraft.

DOMESTIC FEDERAL FLIGHTS

  • For the flight check-in you should show to the passenger service agent the ticket and the passport. If you have an e-ticket, you can show only the passport (or another identification document). Your baggage will not be checked in without you. After the check-in procedure and baggage drop you will get a boarding pass and baggage tags.
  • If the weight of your baggage together with the hand baggage exceeds the established standard of the free baggage allowance for this service class, you should pay for the overweight. The passenger service agent will show you the location of the exceeds baggage cash pay. After the payment you should return to the check-in desk and get a boarding pass and baggage tags. You should ask about baggage regulations at the airlines desk. 
  • Then you enter the departure waiting area, where you can visit different restaurants4 and caffees, shops and newspaper stands.
  • 0 minutes before the scheduled departure time, by the time of boarding, stated in the boarding pass, you should go to the gate, specified in your boarding pass. The boarding starts after the announcement of boarding by the public announcement. In the boarding announcement the carrier, flight number, destination, gate are specified. The announcements are made in Russian and English.
