The passenger flow from Kazan airport to international destinations has increased twice
Dynamics of the passenger flow at Kazan airport for the first five months of this year has been showing a significant growth regarding international destinations. According to the most current data, the number of passengers of international flights increased by more than 100 per cent. Herewith, overall growth of the passenger flow is 34 per cent.
Alexey Starostin, Director General of Kazan international airport, JSC, “The Republic of Tatarstan set the goal to strengthen and develop trade and economic, cultural relations with other states. For the last years, Kazan international airport and Ministry of Transport and Roads of RT have been actively working on enlarging the number of routes in the framework of this project implementation. Particularly, international destinations were opened, such as Frankfurt am Main, Helsinki, Prague, Riga, Ashgabat, Astana, Baku, and others. Charter flights are actively developing, apart from scheduled flights. Thus, purposefully working with CIS and far abroad countries, we do all necessary to open vital hubs for the Republic of Tatarstan.”
Currently, Kazan international airport is working on opening flights to Kaliningrad, Yerevan and Tel Aviv, as well as opening routes to the cities of China. Much attention is given to the development of new charter programs and the development of existing popular tourist destinations. In summer season, the airport offers its passengers flights to Spain, Bulgaria, Tunisia, UAE, Cyprus, Greece and Turkey. The flights have a high load. It is worth noting that in this season flights to Antalya are carried out by 6 airlines, which is a kind of a record.
