Delegation from Tatarstan visited Munich International Airport
On December 13th, delegation from the Republic of Tatarstan with Deputy Minister of Transport and Roads, Andrey Egorov, and management of Kazan international airport conducted a meeting with management of Munich international airport named after Franz Josef Strauss.
Representatives of Munich airport introduced it and gave a tour for guests from the Republic of Tatarstan. During the meeting, the issues of ground handling management, airport infrastructure upgrade, peculiarities of passenger service at the airports and on board, winter apron cleaning, and business processes (non-aviation) were discussed.
Alexey Starostin, Director General of Kazan international airport noted,
“Expertise exchange with major international airport takes on particular significance in the light of forthcoming public events such as FIFA World Cup 2018. World-class sporting events assigning new mission to increase quality of ground handling.
Munich airport expertise learned in terms of major events running will be applied to our work. There are plans to implement new processes at Kazan international airport. We thank our German colleagues for the opportunity provided.
There was also discussed an opportunity to launch a direct flight between Kazan and Munich in the mid-term.
Representatives of German side highly appreciated potential of the regular flight opening. It was an agreement achieved to actively develop this idea in the forthcoming year.”
Munich airport is the second in Germany following Frankfurt am Main airport in terms of served passenger numbers. The passenger flow is more than 42 mln. passengers a year.
