Today Azerbaijan airlines air company opened a flight season to Baku

Today on May 21, 2014 within the summer flights schedule a new resident of Kazan international airport “Azerbaijan airlines” air company opened a flight season to the city of Baku.
The flight presentation was attended by representatives of the air company, Azerbaijan expat community in the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as the first passengers.

Alexandr Lisovik – Marketing and Sales Director of Azerbaijan airlines air company and Alexandr Agafonov Acting First Deputy of General Director of Kazan International Airport took part in solemn opening ceremony and the ceremony of ribbon cutting. Mr Agafonov greeted the guests and participants of the event on behalf of the company management.
He thanked AZAL air company for confidence given to Kazan airport and for choosing it as a partner, and expressed a hope for further fruitful cooperation.

Due to such partners we are planning to develop and increase the destination network of the airport, between them, to offer transit passengers convenient variants of flights from Baku to the countries of Central Asia.
Cooperation with AZAL first of all, it is a forging of relations between two socio-cultural regions, development of business processes, as well as touristic component of our countries, and it certainly will increase the passengers flow.

Aleksandr Lisovik in his turn noted that this destination was a completely new one for AZAL, and that the air company would do its best to keep the flights regular not only in summer season but during the whole calendar year, meanwhile providing high quality of servicing, flights safety, convenient services and most comfortable conditions for its passengers.
We are interested in cooperation and hoping for long-term reliable relations with Kazan airport

Flights to the capital of Azerbaijan will be performed twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Departure from Kazan at 12.00, arrival to Baku at 15.30.
Return departure from Baku at 9.00, arrival to Kazan 10.40
En-route time will be 3.5 hours
90-seats plane Embraer 190 will operate in the line.
The travel cost will start from 7600 rubles per person for one way.
Nowadays air company YUTair using Boeing 735 is carrying direct flights from Kazan to Baku once a week (on Thursdays).
Thus the number of flights between two capitals will increase by three times.

Azerbaijan airlines, AZAL is a subsidiary enterprise of State group corporation Azerbaijan Hava Yollari , largest Azerbaijan air company, flag carrier. It is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Its head office is located in Baku. It was established on April 7, 1992 it was the first national air company, founded after the country gained its independence. The main base of the air company is Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku. The company performs passenger carriage to the countries of Europe, CIS, Middle East, Asia and Russia. In 2011 after receiving a new batch of planes Boeing with long-range capabilities, the company is planning to enlarge new regular flights to Northern America and South-Eastern Asia.

Kazan international airport is one of the largest airports in Russia, the best regional airport in Russia and the CIS countries according to SkyTrax; it has been voted the best airport in Russia by the rating agency Aviaport. Its track chart has more than 55 regional and international flights.
By the results of 2013 Kazan international airport services were used by 1 million 847 thousand 258 passengers, which is 24.2% more than in the previous year.
