Azimuth Airline performed the first flight from Rostov-na-Donu to Kazan international airport
On April 2, a new partner of Kazan airport, Azimuth Airline, launched regular passenger operations on the route Rostov-na-Donu – Kazan – Rostov-na-Donu.
During check-in procedure passengers were congratulated by of the airline and airport representatives. The first passenger to check-in for the flight was given a certificate for free flight to any route carried by the air carrier.
Director General of Azimuth Airline, Pavel Ekzhanov and Strategic Development Director of Kazan international airport, Veronica Aktasheva, attended flight opening. Information awareness was provided by members of mass media and bloggers of Rostov Region, coming with the first flight as well as by its colleagues from the Republic of Tastarstan.
During the inaugural ceremony, the officials mentioned significance of the flights for both regions and demand among population. It was particularly noted that the flight schedule launch coincides with the forthcoming FIFA World Cup 2018 – Rostov-na-Donu and Kazan are the cities, holding this international sporting event.
The first flight was received in a festive atmosphere. Route opening started with ribbon-cutting, then the check-in announcement was made.
Strategic Development Director of Kazan international airport, Veronica Aktasheva mentioned, “Azimuth Airline is dynamically developing its operations by opening new routes. We are glad to commence our cooperation and we are sure that the flight will be in a great demand among passengers”
“Kazan as a destination was chosen after evaluation of the potential demand in compliance with the airline regional traffic development strategy and from the start of the sales flurry of interest is seen among the passengers. Futhermore, flight opening between Don capital and capital of Tatarstan is now possible thanks to Rostov Region support and national subsidy programme and regional traffic development”, commented Director General of Azimuth, Pavel Ekzhanov.
The flights will be performed three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays according to the following schedule:
• departure from Kazan at 19:05 p.m. with arrival to Rostov-na-Donu at 21:00 p.m.;
• departure from Rostov-na-Donu at 16:00 p.m., landing to Kazan airport at 18:05 p.m.
Travel time comprises approximately 2 hours. There may be changes in the flight schedule! Time in Rostov-na-Donu is the same as Moscow time.
