Kazan international airport of Gabdulla Tukay name
The Decree of the President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin “about appellation of the airports with names of peoples having a special National Merit” was published on May 31. Kazan International airport is named of outstanding tatar literary figure Gabdulla Tukay.
Gabdulla Tukay is tatar national poet, literary critic, publicist, public figure and interpreter, who was born on 14 April 1886 in the village Kushlavych, Kazan Country, Kazan Province. He lived entertaining, but short life ( 1886-1913), he went down in history like the great national poet, laying basis of the the national tatar poetry and creating it’s classic style, fundamental ground for tatar language and literature. Gabdulla Tukay is famous not only in Tatarstan, but also out of the country.
