Kazan international airport carried out 2 000 000 passengers from the beginning of the year
On 8 August, Kazan international airport reached the milestone of 2 millions served passengers (here and hereafter: arrival and departure) from the beginning of 2019. This exponent was achieved on 11 days earlier, than the previous year: on 19th August, 2018 the airport has met its own two millionth passenger, it was a historical moment for Tatarstan Civil aviation. In the current year this record was improved, despite fact that, in June-July 2018 is observed additional growth of passenger traffic because of holding 2018 FIFA World Cup.
In this moment, the growth of passengers is almost 7% in relation to previous year. On domestic flights served 1 278 000 passengers the served, on international flights – 727 000. On November it is planned to get 3 000 000 served passengers.
Significant growth of production exponents is settled on most of the destinations. Besides of Moscow and Saint Petersburg such touristic routes like Antalya, Istanbul, Dalaman, Dubai, Prague, Phuket, Tbilisi, Baku and also Sochi and Simferopol were popular.
We want to note that Kazan international airport in the second half of the year will open two new international routes:
• On 30 October the largest low-cost airline in the Central and Eastern Europe Wiz Air will connect Kazan with the capital of Hungary- Budapest ( tickets to the flights are already selling, 2 flights per week).
• On 31 October will be launched the direct flights on the route Kazan- La Romana, Dominican Republic, 1 time in 14 days.
In both cases, Kazan will be the third city in Russia after Moscow and Saint Petersburg, from where it will be possible to go to Budapest and Caribbean on direct flight.
