Авиакомпания Citrus будет базироваться в аэропорту «Казань»

Citrus will be based at Kazan Airport

The new low-cost carrier of the S7 Group holding has decided on the first cities to base its aircraft. Kazan International Airport will become one of the Citrus' bases.

During choosing the base airports, the market development potential was taken into account first of all. According to Citrus, the current route network from Kazan does not fully meet the existing demand, due to the population and economy of the Republic of Tatarstan. Although Kazan Airport does not have a major carrier yet, the airport's infrastructure is at a high level.

The new airline will significantly improve transport accessibility, connecting Kazan with areas that were long and complicated to reach before. Therefore, the airline sees high potential opportunities for market development in Kazan.

The final route network of the carrier has not yet been finalized, Citrus continues negotiations with airports. Nevertheless, the company has already started recruiting pilots and flight attendants to operate flights from Kazan.

S7 Group announced its new low cost Russian airline Citrus in July 2021. In its route network, the airline focuses on direct interregional routes mainly in central Russia. The airline's fleet will consist entirely of new comfortable Airbus A320neo aircraft. The sale of air tickets will open in the spring of 2022, and the start of flights is scheduled for July 2022.

S7 Group is the largest private aviation and space holding in Russia that unites companies operating in the field of air transportation, aircraft maintenance, development and implementation of modern software, and exploitation of outer space.
