Musa Jalil at Gabdulla Tukay Airport

An Aeroflot plane named after the Tatar poet and war correspondent, Hero of the Soviet Union Musa Jalil, was met at the Kazan International Airport. The solemn ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. On the platform, the arriving passengers were met by the orchestra of the Kazan Higher Tank Command Red Banner School.
While fighting on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, Musa Jalil was captured and sent to the Moabit prison in Berlin, where he conducted underground anti-fascist activities. In the dungeons of the prison, Jalil wrote his famous cycle of poems "The Moabite Notebook", which has been translated into more than 60 languages of the world.
"Musa Jalil is a hero not only for Tatarstan, but for our entire country. His feat will be eternal. Today, on June 24, just like 75 years ago, we held a Victory Parade. It is very important that this plane arrived here on such a day" - Rustam Minnikhanov.
